Everyday HOPE and Quotes ( by Lhynn )
Being disappointed is part of life and relationships.
Being disappointed is part of life and relationships. It is a very tough feeling to experience and the quicker we are able to accept and process it the sooner we'll be able to move on. By creating expectations, we risk being disappointed when things don't go exactly the way we had planned or dreamed. This may awaken feelings of anger towards ourselves, others, or God - for allowing this to happen - to frustration and even depression. Disappointment can also be seen as a gift, don't fear it, since it brings us to the reality of what is, not what could have or should have been. Allow yourself to feel your disappointment, the situation which created it, what you were expecting and what actually occurred. By looking at similar past situations and how we moved through them,
we will realize that in most cases the final outcome was more beneficial in the long run than the original plan. Disappointment can also teach us the powerful lesson,
that although things don't always turn out the way we expect, through acceptance of what is, we can find the will to pick up the pieces and continue on our journey strengthened by the wisdom acquired.
